Occupiers destroyed the "Cossack on Watch" monument in Selydove, which was unveiled for the 500th anniversary of Ukrainian Cossackdom (PHOTOFACT)

The monument was inaugurated in 1976 in honor of the 500th anniversary of Ukrainian Cossackdom. Among the locals, it is known as a monument to the legendary Cossack Selydo, who, according to legend, was one of the first settlers on the banks of the Solona River.
