Putin abolished the "Crimean Federal District"

Russian President Vladimir Putin’s Decree abolished the so-called "Crimean Federal District" as an independent unit and it is a part of the Southern Federal District of the Russian Federation. It is reported by UNIAN.

The head of the Southern Federal District is former Russian Prosecutor General Vladimir Ustinov who has been holding the office since 2008.

Earlier Putin was reported to have dismissed the envoy on the "Crimean Federal District" Oleg Belaventsev. He got a similar post in the North-Caucasian Federal District.
