President-elect Donald Trump has announced his choice of retired 80-year-old General Keith Kellogg as his "Special Envoy for Ukraine and russia". Trump made this announcement on the social media platform Truth Social, according to Glavred.
According to the incoming U.S. president, Kellogg "has an outstanding military and business career", particularly in the field of national security.
"Together, we will ensure peace through strength and make America and the world safe again!", - Trump added.
As reported, Kellogg has experience working in the Trump administration during his first presidential term (2017-2021) as the Chief of Staff of the National Security Council.
Kellogg's plan, according to U.S. media, includes:
- Providing Ukraine with more American weapons only if it agrees to peace negotiations with russia.
- Warning russia that if it refuses to negotiate, Washington will increase its support for Kyiv.
- Freezing the line of contact at its current positions.
