Pushilin admitted that influx of russians to occupied Mariupol brings its population close to pre-war levels

Due to the arrival of residents from various regions of russia to occupied Mariupol, the city’s population is nearing its pre-war level. This was stated by the leader of the so-called "DNR", Denis Pushilin, during a broadcast on russian state propaganda TV.

"This figure is already close to the pre-war level. Obviously, these are not all Mariupol residents, as I see a trend where many are relocating to Mariupol from russian regions", - Pushilin remarked.

Earlier reports highlighted differences in mortgage programs in the occupied territories of Ukraine compared to those in russia. In russia, housing mortgages can only be obtained within the buyer’s region of residence. However, in the annexed oblasts of Ukraine, the mortgage program is aimed at russian settlers wishing to move to the "new territories".

Ukrainians living in occupied territories and who lost their homes due to russian aggression can also apply for loans to purchase housing. However, even at a preferential interest rate (2% per annum), they are unlikely to afford the prices set by developers. The maximum mortgage loan amount is 6 million rubles, roughly the price of a one-bedroom apartment.
