The Verkhovna Rada has approved Ukraine's state budget for 2025, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced on Telegram on November 19.

"All taxes paid by citizens and businesses next year will be directed toward the defense and security of our country. The total resources allocated for the security and defense sector will amount to 2.23 trillion UAH. Record-breaking funds, totaling 739 billion UAH, will be designated for the production and procurement of weapons, including increased financing for modernizing our defense-industrial complex and purchasing drones", - Shmyhal stated.

He emphasized that supporting citizens is the second priority of the budget: "We have planned a pension indexation in March. Overall, nearly 421 billion UAH has been allocated for social assistance programs".

Key allocations include:

Education: Nearly 199 billion UAH, with additional 17.5 billion UAH set aside for upgrading educational facilities and building shelters.

Healthcare: 217 billion UAH, including 10.7 billion UAH for modernizing medical institutions, purchasing advanced equipment, and creating rehabilitation centers.

"We are also continuing to support regions and communities. In 2025, local budget resources will increase by 15%. In times of limited resources, this budget clearly defines our priorities: defense, security, citizen support, and the development and recovery of the country. These are the foundations that make us stronger and lead us toward victory", - Shmyhal concluded.
