The city of Pokrovsk in the Donetsk oblast will be entirely closed for entry and exit as a defense measure. This was reported on October 30 by Pokrovsk City Military Administration head Serhiy Dobriak on the air of national Ukrainian TV news broadcast.
Dobriak also urged residents to evacuate before the city is blocked and noted that Defense Forces are already securing the surrounding area. According to him, russian occupiers are now 6.7 km from one of Pokrovsk’s outskirts.
Currently, 11,900 residents remain in the city, including 55 children, Dobriak added. “We encourage people to leave at least for the winter, as it will be very difficult in the cold. There will be no heating season, but there will be warming stations”, - Dobriak emphasized.
