The government has allowed military units to directly mobilize volunteers – bypassing TCRC

The Cabinet of Ukraine has authorized military units to mobilize volunteers directly, without the involvement of the Territorial Centers for Recruitment and Social Support (TCRC). This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on its website on October 1.

"Military units have been granted the right to mobilize reservists and military personnel who voluntarily wish to serve during mobilization. The corresponding resolution, developed by the Ministry of Defense, was adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. ... The resolution adopted by the government amends the Procedure for Calling Citizens to Military Service During Mobilization, approved by the Cabinet of Ministers' resolution dated May 16, 2024, No. 560", - the statement said.

It was clarified that henceforth, military personnel and reservists volunteering can choose a military unit for service without going through the Territorial Centers for Recruitment and Social Support (TCRC).

Commanders of military units are empowered to directly issue directions for medical commissions to determine fitness for service, as well as to staff combat units with volunteers willing to serve on mobilization orders.

The list of military units whose commanders will be able to call up volunteers will be determined by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
