Russians executed an unarmed Ukrainian prisoner of war, whose hands were tied with tape, using a sword. This was reported on September 17 by the Verkhovna Rada's Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, on Telegram.

"Another war crime — russians executed an unarmed Ukrainian prisoner of war, whose hands were tied with tape, using a sword. The level of barbarism and bloodthirstiness is incomprehensible. Such actions are a blatant violation of the Geneva Convention on the Treatment of Prisoners of War! How much longer will the world watch as russia openly demonstrates disregard for all norms and laws?" - Lubinets stated.

He mentioned that he had sent letters to international organizations, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and the United Nations (UN) to document this latest human rights violation by Russia.

"I would like to emphasize that these public executions are intended to demoralize Ukrainian society. However, witnessing such actions should only strengthen our resolve in the fight against the aggressor", - the Human Rights Commissioner urged.
