The United States has sanctioned the Iranian airline Iran Air, russian and Iranian organizations involved in cooperation between the two regimes, high-ranking officials from both countries, and merchant ships. This was reported in an official statement from the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the U.S. Department of the Treasury, according to Ukrinform.
"Today, in response to Iran's ongoing military support, including the recent supply of ballistic missiles to russia for its aggressive war against Ukraine, OFAC is imposing sanctions on ten individuals and six entities located in Iran and russia", - the statement said.
It should be noted that the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, stated that Ukraine "needs permission to use Western weapons against military targets on russian territory, and the provision of longer-range missiles" — despite saying that "sanctions against Iran are a positive step".
