AFU’s General Staff confirmed loss of American F-16 fighter jet and pilot's death

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has confirmed the loss of an American F-16 fighter jet and the death of its pilot, Oleksiy Mes. This was stated in a message from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

It is noted that during the interception of a missile strike by russia on Ukrainian territory, F-16 fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were deployed alongside anti-aircraft missile units. "During the air battle, the F-16 aircraft demonstrated their high effectiveness, with onboard weapons shooting down four enemy cruise missiles. While targeting the next objective, communication with one of the aircraft was lost. It was later discovered that the aircraft had crashed, and the pilot was killed", - the statement reads.
