Nearly 2000 fake marriages have been "registered" in the so-called "DPR" since the beginning of the year

Almost two thousand "certificates" of marriage, which are valid only on the occupied territories, have been issued since the beginning of 2016 in the part of Donetsk region controlled by militants. It is reported by the separatist DAN website with reference to the press service of the so-called "Ministry of Justice".

"Departments of registration and Civil Status have registered 1903 marriage certificates since the beginning of 2016," - said the statement.

Issuance of "republican" "certificates of civil status" began in July 2015.

It has been repeatedly reported that "documents" issued on the occupied territories are not recognized abroad. Consequently, marriage that are concluded on the territory controlled by militants are also invalid.
