U.S. expressed support for Ukraine after attack on the Kursk oblast

U.S. authorities support the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) that have entered the Kursk oblast of russia. This was stated by White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, according to "The Moscow Times" Telegram channel.

"We support Ukraine in what it is doing to defend itself against russian aggression. We believe it is clearly important to do so as we are talking about democracy and freedom. And we will continue to do so", - said Jean-Pierre.

She reminded that russian forces had previously attacked Ukraine from the Kursk oblast, which Ukrainian troops have now entered.

Jean-Pierre declined to comment on whether U.S. weapons are being used by the AFU in their operations.

It was reported that the U.S. State Department had stated that Ukraine did not inform the U.S. in advance about the operation in the Kursk oblast, but that "everyday tactics" are not always discussed.

The European Union has stated that Ukraine has the right to self-defense and can strike the enemy on its own territory.
