Putin has signed a decree increasing the federal payment to 400,000 rubles (USD 4,600) for military personnel who sign a contract to serve in the "special military operation" zone from August 1 until the end of the year. Previously, this payment was 195,000 rubles (USD 2,200).
However, the incentive to sign a contract for those willing to fight against Ukraine can be much higher. For example, in the Chelyabinsk oblast, future occupiers receive not only the federal payment but also an additional 705,000 rubles (USD 8,200) as a regional (provincial) payment and 100,000 rubles (USD 1,200) as a municipal payment.
Moscow leads in the "purchase price" for participants in "cannon fodder assaults" – there, the regional payment for signing a contract has been raised to 1.9 million rubles (USD 22,000). With the increased federal component, a "volunteer" will receive a one-time payment of 2.3 million rubles (USD 26,700).
