90 defenders returned to Ukraine from russian captivity (PHOTO, VIDEO)

Yesterday marked the 53rd exchange of prisoners of war, with 90 Ukrainian defenders successfully returning home. The exchange was mediated by the UAE, according to Ukrainian Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets on June 25.

"This is joyful news for Ukrainian families! Ukraine has long been working towards this result - and finally, we have it! Ombudsman's Office staff were present at the exchange. We will continue to monitor the rights of those returned, particularly concerning medical examinations, rehabilitation, and the acquisition of necessary documents and bank cards", - the Ombudsman wrote.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky also commented on the exchange.

"Home is not just a word. Home is Ukraine. Today, 90 more of our people have returned home from russian captivity. National Guard soldiers, Navy personnel, army soldiers, territorial defense fighters, border guards. Those who defended Mariupol. Those who defended the Chornobyl nuclear power plant. Those who were on the Kherson, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Luhansk fronts", - the president wrote.
