EU officially begins accession talks with Ukraine and Moldova – von der Leyen

Ukraine and Moldova are starting negotiations for EU membership today. This announcement was made by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on the social network X.

"Congratulations to Moldova and Ukraine on opening accession negotiations.

This is very good news for the people of Ukraine, Moldova, and the entire European Union. The path ahead will be challenging but full of opportunities. Wishing you a successful start of the negotiations!!", - she noted.

It was previously reported that accession talks for Ukraine’s membership in the EU would begin on June 25 in Luxembourg.
