Ukrainians allegedly responsible for the assassination of "DNR" militant Motorola received sentences ranging from 12 years to life imprisonment

Four Ukrainians found guilty of the assassination of "DNR" militant Motorola were sentenced to prison terms ranging from 12 years to life imprisonment. This was reported by russian media, citing the verdict of the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don.

The formal commander of the "Sparta Battalion" NAF, Arsen Pavlov, known by the callsign "Motorola", was killed in an elevator explosion in Donetsk on October 16, 2016, in an apartment he had confiscated from its legal owners.

According to the investigation, Oleksandr Pohorelov, who received a life sentence, planted the explosive on the elevator roof. The defendant had previously claimed he was tortured with electric shocks.

Vasyl Churylov, who allegedly gathered intelligence on the field commander, was sentenced to 13 years in a maximum-security prison. Oleksandr Tymoshenko, allegedly involved in espionage, was sentenced to 12 years, while Artem Yena was sent to a colony for 17 years for "aiding terrorist activities".

Notably, these same Ukrainians were also found guilty of an assassination attempt on "DNR" leader Alexander Zakharchenko.
