On June 8, 2024, a Su-57 multirole fighter jet belonging to the aggressor state was hit at the "Akhtubinsk" airfield in russia's Astrakhan oblast, located 589 kilometers from the front line. This was reported by the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

The strike on the russian fighter jet is evidenced by satellite images of the aircraft parking area at the enemy airfield.

The images show that on June 7, the Su-57 was intact, but by June 8, there were crater marks from explosions and characteristic burn marks from a fire caused by the strike near the aircraft.

"The Su-57 is the most advanced fighter jet moscow has, capable of using Kh-59 and Kh-69 missiles for strikes. Only a few of these combat aircraft are in service with the russian Aerospace Forces. The strike on the Su-57 is the first such incident in history", - noted Ukrainian intelligence.

It was also reported that another russian Su-25 was destroyed in the Donetsk oblast.
