Around midnight on May 31, russian forces struck a five-story building in Kharkiv, resulting in three preliminary fatalities and 23 injuries. This information was shared on Telegram by Mayor Ihor Terekhov, the head of the Oblast Military Administration (OMA) Oleh Synehubov, and the National Police of Ukraine.

"Unfortunately, a hit on a multi-apartment residential building. There is destruction and fire...", - the mayor reported.

Later, he added: "Preliminary reports indicate repeated strikes on the same location as the initial hits. According to the State Emergency Service, there might be people trapped under the rubble of the five-story building".

At 3:50 a.m., Terekhov reported that the russian shelling had claimed the lives of three people, and the number of injured had risen to 23, including a medical worker and a police officer who had arrived at the scene of the explosion.

"The enemy used the tactic of a double strike again, hitting while medics, rescuers, and law enforcement officers were already at the scene. Preliminary data suggests the occupiers used S-300 missiles in the Novobavarsky district of Kharkiv. All hits were on civilian infrastructure. The cleanup of the aftermath continues", - reported OMA head.

The National Police reported: "As a result of the enemy projectile hitting a multi-story residential building, a man and a woman were killed. Their identities are being established. The fourth and fifth floors of one section of the building were completely destroyed. Twenty-three people were injured, including a 12-year-old boy and girl".

"Another projectile hit the ground on the territory of a civilian manufacturing enterprise. As a result of the shelling, a security guard born in 1959 was killed. The production facilities were damaged", - the National Police confirmed.
