On April 23 (April 24 in Ukraine), the US Senate approved a bill to provide aid to Ukraine. Now the document must be signed by US President Joe Biden.

During the vote on the bill, which provides assistance to Ukraine in the amount of $61 billion, 79 senators ultimately voted "for" while 18 senators voted against.

This bill provides for the allocation of funds to assist Ukraine totaling more than $60 billion. Specifically, $49.9 billion is allocated for defense spending, $1.57 billion will be directed towards economic assistance, and an additional $400 million for border protection and humanitarian demining. At the same time, the bill provides for $7.8 billion in direct budgetary support, but these funds will be provided as a loan. Its terms will be determined by a separate agreement.

The bill will be promptly signed by the President of the United States. After that, Washington must allocate a new package of military aid to Ukraine as soon as possible.
