The russian Ministry of Defense declared on the morning of March 12 that russian air defense systems had "destroyed and intercepted" at least 25 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles over russian territories during the night. This information was reported by the BBC.

The aggressor country's defense ministry stated that seven drones were destroyed over the Belgorod oblast, 11 over Kursk, two each over moscow and Oryol, and one each over the Bryansk, Leningrad, and Tula oblasts.

Sergei Sobyanin, the mayor of moscow, reported that air defense forces in the moscow oblast had downed a drone heading toward the capital.

According to the governor of the Voronezh oblast, Alexander Gusev, a drone was detected and destroyed over Voronezh.

Governor Roman Starovoit of the Kursk oblast mentioned in his Telegram channel that five more drones were shot down over the region. Earlier, he had spoken of one drone being downed by russian air defense.

The Ministry of Regional Security of the Tula oblast also reported the downing of a drone over the region.

On Monday night, the governor of the Belgorod oblast also wrote about a drone strike.

Authorities in the Oryol oblast reported that a drone strike caused a fire at an oil depot in Oryol. Approximately 60 people and a firefighting train are currently working to extinguish the fire.

Russian media outlets report that another oil processing plant, the Nizhny Novgorod Refinery located in the city of Kstovo in the Nizhny Novgorod region, caught fire due to a drone strike. Lukoil, the owner of the Nizhny Novgorod Refinery, announced that the operation of a technological unit at the facility has been suspended "due to an incident".

Some russian Telegram channels report that the facility was hit by a drone, which struck the oil distillation unit. These details have not been confirmed by official sources. The Nizhny Novgorod Refinery is one of the largest oil refineries in russia.

Gleb Nikitin, the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod oblast, confirmed the information about drone strikes on the oil processing plant in Kstovo.
