Biden to Congress: "Ukraine can stop putin if we provide the weapons it needs to defend itself"

Ukraine can halt putin's aggression, but Washington must continue military aid to Kyiv. President Joe Biden stated this during his report to Congress on Thursday in a State of the Union address, as reported by Voice of America.

"If anybody in this room thinks putin will stop at Ukraine, I assure you, he will not", - emphasized Biden. "But Ukraine can stop putin if we stand with Ukraine and provide the weapons it needs to defend itself. That is all Ukraine is asking. They are not asking for American soldiers".

The U.S. President emphasized that American soldiers are not fighting in Ukraine, and he intends to stick to this policy.

"But now assistance for Ukraine is being blocked by those who want us to walk away from our leadership in the world", - Biden said, referring to the Republicans in the House of Representatives.

Biden stated that his message to putin is straightforward: "We will not walk away. We will not bow down".

"History is watching", - repeated the U.S. President several times.

"It wasn’t that long ago when a Republican President, Ronald Reagan, thundered, "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall". Now, my predecessor, a former Republican President, tells putin, "Do whatever the hell you want", - Biden recalled.
