Russian President Vladimir Putin said that he agreed with President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on the fact that "it is necessary to extend the OSCE mission". The Russian leader said that when answering questions at the plenary session of the SPIEF, - reports UNIAN with the reference to TASS.

"It is necessary to carry out political reforms as soon as possible which will form the basis of a final settlement in the field of security, - Putin said -. Some things need to be done in parallel. I agree with Peter Poroshenko about the fact that it is necessary to strengthen the OSCE mission, including to allow the observers of the OSCE mission to carry firearms."

As previously reported, Poroshenko said that the elections on the occupied territories of Donbass were possible only after bringing in armed OSCE police mission that would provide security. According to Poroshenko, a safe component doesn’t simply mean the ceasefire, it is not enough. "Effective observation posts should be established on the demarcation line, which will guarantee the fulfillment of the security conditions. However, appropriate positions of the international forces should be established and slocated in the so-called weapons storage site and corresponding positions should be established on uncontrolled Ukrainian-Russian border area, "- said the President.
