Earlier, the "DNR" leader Denis Pushilin has repeatedly stated that the main goal of the "doctrine" was the annexation of the "republics" to the Russian Federation. However, given the negative attitude of the Kremlin to such a development of events, it was decided come to a neutral wording: "The future of Donbass is only with Russia". According to the authors of the "doctrine," unity with the Russian Federation "is maintained by obtaining citizenship of the Russian Federation by residents of the DNR and LNR, comprehensive integration with Russia and its social, cultural, and economic institutions". Instead of the DNR/LNR joining Russia, "deepened economic integration with Russia, complex integration of the Donbass enterprises with Russian industry, intensification of socio-cultural, scientific, educational and other ties between the L/DNR and the Russian Federation" was declared. At the same time, the doctrine of the "Russian Donbass" provides for the expansion of the Russian occupation to the entire territory of the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts and the inclusion of the entire south-east of Ukraine in the orbit of the Russian world.

A man died in the village of Novyi Svit (Starobesheve district) on the occupied part of Donetsk region, falling through the ice. This was reported by the fake "DNR Ministry of Emergency Situations". The body of a citizen, born in 1956, was under the ice at a distance of 10 m from the coast. To take it out, it was necessary to cut through the ice with entrenching tool, - the report said.
