The Hungarian parliament did not offer Russia to jointly protect national minorities in Ukraine, as the Russian State Duma announced. This is stated in the corresponding statement of the MFA of Ukraine.

It notes that the Hungarian State Assembly accepted no statements regarding a joint action plan with Russia to protect the interests of national minorities of Ukraine.

Therefore, the Hungarian deputies could neither orally nor in written form transmit such information during the Hungarian-Russian negotiations at the level of the parliaments, - the report said.

The MFA is confident that Ukraine and Hungary are partner countries that are able to find solutions to all issues independently, by dialogue and consultations, including those on which there are different approaches.

"We believe that Hungary, as member of the EU and NATO, supports us in countering Russian aggression, it will not enter into alliances with the aggressor against Ukraine and will also respond to the emergence of this information", - the MFA of Ukraine's statement said.

As previously reported, Speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin reported that the National Assembly of Hungary requested the State Duma of the Russian Federation to join forces to protect the rights of national minorities in Ukraine.
